I have my 30" speedway column here and I haven't pulled my stock steering wheel off yet. Before I do that I was curious if anyone could tell me or show me how they mated the speedway to the stock wheel? I assume having the wheel sitting next to the column and I'll realize how to make the adapter but it can't hurt to see how its been done thus far. I wish the splines just matched but I suspect thats not even close.

I'm possibly following suit, so would love to see as well.

I thought I would update this thread so we'd have documentation of the work in progress. Thats my hub and its been bolted flush to the speedway quick release hub. Center was opened on lathe to diameter of the stock steering shaft. The shaft has not been welded to my hub because first I am going to reduce the height on the back of the steering wheel and then measure and weld before final fitment. Will update as it progresses.

i love the idea of beieng able to keep the original wheel. You could probly sell a few of those if you were to make them. Not bieng able to use the oe wheel is what has kept me from pulling the trigger in a speedway column.

Its almost a necessity to use the speedway column because the OE column is going to have worn out bearings and requires modification to work. The speedway is ready to rock but just needs a hub machined and welded.

Here is another angle if it helps anyone design their solution.

That's a piece of art! I'm also in the camp that says you may be able to sell a few of these if you are willing to make them for a reasonable price.

Just make sure that quick-release has a VERY positive locking pin. I have two friends that have both had their steering wheels come unfastened while driving. Both were offroad incidents, and one ended up hitting a tree requiring a tow back to camp (fortunately, no injuries in either case).
I'm not a fan of quick release wheels, except in track cars where there is no way in or out without that feature.
    Nice work on the machining!

The plan is to run a tight bolt instead of the quick release. I don't need to remove the wheel so it will be bolted on tight.
