Houston I have a problem!

    Don't worry, you're not missing anything, that messed with my head a bit too before I figured it out- The CJ5 is based on the military M38A1 (as if everybody didn't already know this :)) The military gas tank is bigger, deeper actually. It has a piece that sticks down through a big square hole in the floor, right where you *don't* have your "missing" body mount. On my '55 tub (as well as a later tub of unknown vintage that I have) there's a square patch of metel spot welded over the hole, I'm told the hole & patch dissappeared on later models, maybe the same time they got rid of the battery box cover on the cowl.
