   The threaded part is a bit too long, and the nut will bottom out before it tightens up enough to hold the switch in place.

   Get a nut, umm, from condiut for an electrical junction box. One of those big hex nuts that's just sheet metal sorta thing. Put it on the switch then put it in the dash and then tighten down the bezel.
