    Could someone point me in the right direction, search results didn't bring back what i was looking for

    I am looking at possibly buying this Jeep, I know for sure it is a Kaiser, and the fuel filler is next to driver's door and it had dauntless V6 emblems, other than that I can't really answer any questions about it other than it has a Big block chebby, with tunnel ram and dual carbs and is bolted to a turbo400, the body is seriously rotted, I would like to identify it and find out what if any body parts are availbile before i buy it

    VIN = 8305 A 212643

    thank you very much

    so is there an actual difference between a 57548 and an 8305? or is it just a number thing? again thanks for helping the newbie that asked the question thats already been asked.

    I guess you could say the major difference was the Willys prefix is the 1st set, Kaiser prefix after they took over was the 2nd set.

    :shock:

    Welcome to the site from W. MI. All body parts are available - actually you have a choice between steel, 'glass, or aluminum.

    What would you use a Jeep equipped like this for? Sounds like a sand-dragging setup.

    If the plan is to keep this drivetrain, you'll want to upgrade everything else downstream as well as they wont live long behind a big-block.

    Hi all - thanks for the welcomes, I am from Florida and currently own a 67 Kaiser C-101, sorry for not filling out my profile, didn't know if I would be hanging around or not, as this 66 CJ-5 is just something that I saw for sale that I am considering buying. So unless its ok for a Jeepster owner to hang around I'll probably not be around much unless I do decide to pick up this 66.

    The 66 is a piece for sure, but I unfortunately see the potential in everything. Most people bring home stray dogs or cats - I drag home stray cars and trucks LOL. I didn't check to see what rear end or anything it had in it, I only knew it was a 400 because most of the floor is missing!!! I wish I had a digicam so I could take pics for ya'll. It is also not four wheel drive anymore but I didn't crawl around it seeing exactly how they did it. If it fires up and drives it is prolly worthwhile just for the drivetrain in it as I believe they want 1500 hundred for it. The body is seriously rotted. Frame rails??? If any one else may be interested in it let me know and I can find out more, my interest is only fleeting at the moment.

    Welcome from Roanoke, VA. You are always welcome here! As you'll find, even though our name is early cj 5, we have all interests. You've got lots of company in FL. What part are you from?

    Have to laugh at your name. Peter is a lifetime member of the Kaiser Frazer Owner's Club. While he doesn't have any Kaiser jeeps, he has a '49 & a '54 Kaiser (pics if you click the WWW under our signature).

    This is the place for the sick minds so feel at home. You're not the only one with these addictions!

    Great Googly moogly!!! BIG BLOCK! --in a rotted body yet!! Sound like one of those Urban Legend things!

    Hey, stick around --That bringing home strays trucks thing makes you a perfect match on this forum! I'm not an earlyCJ5 owner (yet) but an enthusiast for sure!

    Anyways, welcome from SE Michigan!

    8505 A 212643 puts it right after my 1967 (8305 A 211703) that was bought new by the orig. owner in Sept 1966.... that could be a 1966 or 1967 actually. The 'A' designates the V-6.
