The Storey Family's Chief Financial Officer (Mrs. Storey) has authorized expenditures on the M416 jeep trailer. I'm going to order a new rear panel from JeePanels but I want to do a modification for a tailgate. Any tips, pics, examples, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I'll be having the job done by professional shop folks as I have neither the experience nor the equipement to do it myself. I've heard some tidbits about the trailer sides weakening due to the tailgate cutout. I'm thinking, cut a section out of the back for the tailgate but leave some on each side as a back wall and strengthen with some sort of L-channel along the floor to the back wall? What about latches or hardware? Suggestions? Somewhere I saw a post on this site where someone had a tailgate with some sort of solid pin 'inside' the round top rail that would slide from the tailgate part into the left and right side of the back panel, to hold the tailgate in place. For the life of me, I can't find that posting. :? Anyone remember that one? Seems like it was only within the last couple of months. Thanks!
