Just wondering if anyone has put the 2100 on a Dauntless and what manifold or adapter did you use.

I think Metcalf, the owner of "Rango loves the 2100. He has a lot of info on his pirate thread, also on expeditionportal.

I see some have gone to the Holley Avenger with good results. I'm wondering how the 2100 has worked for anyone who has installed it. The Avenger truck carb seems to do very well at all angles.

I've got a TA470 on a Dauntless. It runs just fine at any angle I've had the guts to put it to.
I had to do a lot of tuning to get it to run on a 225 at my elevation.

I like the 2100 on my dump truck so much, I've thought about swapping it into the CJ. I've had my truck at angles most jeeps would never see, and it's never stumbled. It would definitely be on my short list for swaps.

All the TA parts can be put onto a 390 8007 also. Probably a little easier to tune as they work really well on the v6 right off the shelf.

Supposedly the TA series carbs have a redesigned metering block that's supposed to work better at extreme angles. I can tell you that mine works better off road than any other Holley I've worked on (which is a LOT)

I have had zero problems with my mc2100 at angles. I haven't tried to drive up a tree, but there are hills where we hunt that my 4wd Tahoe won't drive up. The jeep isles all over them. I purchased mine from an eBay seller with 1.08 Venturi. My buddy Steve picked up a 2150 from the same seller and it runs great as well.
There are lots of carbs used on this forum, but you couldn't pay me to change mine. My wife walks out to the jeep in the morning, cranks it over for 10 sec to get oil pressure, stops. One small tap on the throttle and the jeep fires right up at high idle until the engine warms and choke opens. After a couple mins it idles down and she drives it 20 miles to work.

What did it take to adapt to the 225 intake?

I am running an offenhauser 4bbl intake. I have a 4bbl to 2bbl adapter. I don't know if there are any adapters available for the stock 225 intake. It probably wouldn't be too hard for s machine shop to make one.

Pretty sure there is a small Rochester to Holley 2V adapter available. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/trd-2086/overview/

These adapters are not hard to make if you have a die grinder and drill press. Buy 1/2" aluminum stock, gaskets for both, and trace out the pattern.

That adapter should work...you'd want to plug the exhaust ports in the factory intake manifold.

Putting a mc2100 on a offy intake with an adapter just curious as to where you hooked up vacuum advance is it the port right under the chock adjustment?

I've run just about every two and four barrel carb on my Dauntless over the years, including the MC. All (except the stock 2G) were run on an Offy 360 with a spread bore.
    I used a standard 2 to 4 spreadbore adapter.
The MC ran fine. Small flooding issues on extreme forward angles but it was acceptable. While off idle performance was good, I felt the stock Rochester,Holley Economaster, and Quadrajet performed better. My knee jerk reaction was the throttle bores were a tad big for the engine size which caused slower reactions to small throttle inputs at low RPM's.

I'm also not a fan of vacuum power valves. They have a tendency to fail over time and a backfire can blow the diaphragm.

While I realize the carb is huge, I'm an avid fan of the Quadrajet. I've run one for twenty plus years and it has never failed to impress.

Not only do MC2100's work better right out of the box off road, they are $300 cheaper and parts are more readily available.

I agree, but more tune-ability with the Weber and there are also a wealth of parts for them. I run an airhorn to maximize air flow, especially at off idle, very noticeable. The MC is a great offroad carb, but there are other options depending on needs, wants, skills, budget etc.

With that said, the above kit from Sal takes out almost all of the guesswork specifically for a Dauntless 6.
