I have an Artic top for my CJ-3a. I would like to use my original windshield, {slanted back type} instead of the windshield that came with the top. I don't like the hardtop windshield since its sits straight up.

Has anybody done this mod. and would you have some direction for me?

I don't think the roof and windshield junction would be to bad to fabricate. My problem is the doors, I was considering starting fresh and building totally new doors?

    Any ideas welcome.

Just curious, did you just get the top or has it already been on the Jeep? I know what you mean about the windshield, it looks weird. But I will say the look kind of grows on you, it's unique and I've come to like it. I don't have one but if I did I'd leave it as is. That said, hardest thing with making doors is the way they have to curve and bend in to line up with the door opening and the windshield.

I have had the top for awhile but have never put it on.

Even if the look could grow on me, I wouldn't want to switch back to my original slant windshield for summer use.

    Thanks,

    Randy

I have been looking into hard tops and like mentioned the hinge line will be a huge problem that is why the Artic top and a number of others has gone to a straight up and down windshield to allow a straight hinge line. This is alos a big reason why the CJ5's body shape was changed to allow a hard top with decent doors.
