Certainly could be true but only if the top was modified since all of those tops should bolt right on to any CJ5 from '55 to '75.

At what point does the top fasten to the windshield? Is it at the front and to the front of the windshield?

Looks as if it should have screws going into the top of the windshield frame. From inside the top.

Here is a shot from the inside. That's old carpet glue not rust. There is the small piece you can see that fits the top of the windshield frame and has screw holes in from the top

Are there 2 pieces of rubber underneath the windshield? Only supposed to be one. The windshield frame angle should be very close to inline with the hinge angle.

The top piece that looks like rubber is steel and appears to be the bottom of the windshield frame

Did the pieces screwed to the side of the windshield frame come with the top?

May have found the problem. Going to adjust this windshield mount and try again...

Looking from the inside at the piece sitting on top of the windshield frame and apparently folded over. If you tilt the windshield back would that folded over piece rest across the front of the windshield frame and right above the c channel for the soft top?

Of course it isn't helping anything that the front of the top is bent up and distorted.

Here is a view from underneath. You can see an old piece of weather strip that sits on top of the windshield frame as well as some screw holes

Folded the windshield down for a better look. Seems there is a rubber seal and a very thin piece of rubber like an inner tube

That thin stuff shouldn't be there, that has to be part of the problem. Obviously that was put there to help stop it from leaking.
