    Behold! The mounting brackets.
    I offset the rod holes for possible nut head/rod interference.
    2" long aluminum angle.

    Nice work.

    Will you have backing plates to distribute the stresses of movement on the trail?
    The OEM are fastened over a large area, and I suspect the racking forces are considerable. The offset may even increase the effects, through leverage.

    Also, use good epoxy paint where the aluminum contacts the steel, no need to have bi-metallic corrosion start working.
