Can anyone steer me in the direction of where I can get some greaseable bolts for my shackles? I don't want the whole shackle, just the bolts. I don't have a good enough drill press or bits to drill down the center of my grade 8 bolts.

I just made mine but without a lathe it is not really a doable task and cobalt/carbide bits don't really care for off-hand drilling. I would be trying to find some drilled spring pivot bolts but most of the Jeep variety are 1/2" rather than 7/16". Just about any machine shop could make them but I'm going to guess they will be about $25 each by the time they are done. Maybe give McRuff a call.

In my experience Grade 8 bolts aren't any harder to drill than grade 5's, grade 2's or BSO's. If you take some time & care with the setup any drill press that isn't actually falling apart should be able to do the job.
