    Hello Folks
I just got a new glove box for my 1955 CJ 5.
It came with no mounting instructions.
Has anyone done this before and could help?
Also would a locksmith have a lock for the glove box door?
    Thanks for the help

Help us here Jason. Did you get a new box, as in the interior portion, or did you get a new door? Or both?
Can't help with the interior portion, I tossed mine years ago.

As for the lock, I know I've seen some with keyed locks on the button, so you might be able to find one. Try a locksmith who specializes in automotive, preferably someone who has been in business 30+ years...

If you just got the replacement plastic box you just slide it over the tabs on the dash and screw it to it.

As far as the lock I think I posted a link to a couple for sale on ebay in the "ebay section" a while back.

There's a locksmith here in Albuquerque who can more than likely make a key for your latch if you have a latch and just don't have a key.
He also probably has something that will work -- maybe from a Ford -- if you are looking for the whole latch assembly. He's great and knows his stuff.
    Here's his e-mail

Check with www.beachwoodcanvas.com they have the original style lock for around $33. Same as above just slip the box so the tabs are on the inside and run a pan head screw thru the box.
