The glass bowl fuel pump on my 134 f head has a leak, sitting for 10+years, go figure. I think my engine came out of the '46 hulk lying in my pasture, which means its been swapped twice. My question is, Walcks only sells the glass bowl pump without vacuum, the vacuum ones are all metal, are all glass bowls non vacuum, and how do I tell which one I need, does it even matter? The non vacuum glass bowls are way cheaper, which is the heart of my problem. Thanks. As an addendum, Ive seen mention that bosch makes a fuel pump for these engines, but i found numerous part numbers, are they any good and which one is the right one?

Do you have vacuum powered wipers? If not you don't need the dual pump.

FYI the non-glass bowl vacuum pumps were used on the military engines, civvys had a vacuum pump with a glass bowl.

True about military pumps but they are quite different, have a priming lever etc. I think possibly he may be referring to some replacement fuel-only pumps which come without the glass dome. One of those would work fine if he has electric wipers.
