Front Shackles Appear Wrong

    I am considering just picking up a running jeep. Here is a photo for the leaf spring on one I like. It appears a little off to me. Just not sure it it is an easy fix or one could just run it as is.

    Looks like doubled up shackles? Remove one?

    I've seen similar used to get a lot of drop and articulation off road. Probably makes for a white knuckle street ride. I'd do as Focker said / just get a set of conventional and new bushings.

    Looks to me like it's a shackle reversal, with some kind of double shackle. The front of the spring is where the factory shackle would be, and the rear is a fixed pivot. The rear springs are the opposite, with the shackle at the rear of the spring.

    Looks to me like the factory fixed pivot is missing - you may need the assistance of a welder to put it back to the way it was from the factory. And those springs have a very aggressive arch, so you'll almost certainly need to add caster shims to restore the factory suspension geometry. To me, I would be worried if the price was not especially enticing. Radical changes like this are hard to do well, and I expect you'll find other stuff that's been changed.

    Do you know what year this Jeep is? There is quite a lot of literature online for the intermediate Jeeps.

    They're a variant of the Revolver Shackles, back from a time when RTI ramp scores were more important than actual performance (Late 90's? Early 2000's?) They'll probably be fine to run as is, but if they feel at all funky, swap them out with a set of conventional shackles.

    The lift springs look a hair short too. Or maybe when the shackle reversal was done, the shackle mounts were placed a hair too far back?

    If they are still tight, they actually run just fine. As long as the brake lines have lots of room and the front driveline has enough travel it should be fine. Looks like a single shackle would probably be an easy fix too.
