front and rear wheel seals.

    Here are some picture of one that my dad had in his pile of parts.

    From left to right outer hub assembly, then snap ring on end of drive axle, the drive hub with like 8 1/4" X 3/4" bearings and the the outer spindle nut. It should 4-6 notches in the outer rim (the one I took out had none) and 3 small set screws ( you can see these in the parts brake down(upper left Part # SE205)

    Hub removed and outer nut removed. You can see the washer with small hole in it remove this next it has a tang on the inner side, and the remove the inner nut. Thi should let you get to the bearing to repack them.

    There is a thin, flat washer that you are supposed to bend over the flat of the nut to hold it in place. If the lock washer is bent over the nut, the socket will not go onto the nut.

    On this type of nut the little set screws hold the outer nut from turning, this set is different than most CJ JEEP.

    i need to open it up again
    and flush it out with brake cleaner so i can see what exactly is going on in there.

    That isn't the type of spindle nuts/ washers Bill's Jeep has, unless someone has swapped parts. Let's not create any confusion.

    Bill - I went though my pile o hubs and I don't have a Warn Like that (I have the newer type). I do have others simular, but won't help with what your doing.

    I have only seen the type they are posting once, but once you get the hub off (and I believe it will need that other socket) you will get to the nuts and washers the rest of us are describing.

    Do take apart, clean with brake cleaner, take pics and we will get you through this :)

    i dont like the looks of that stripped,chewed up part.
    i dont have anymore money.
    it looks like once i get the stripped part off the socket will fit.

    p.s.
    i looked again.
    i think the stripped area is part of the giant nut.

    Don't look good, If you can get in try a pare of Channel lock pliers
    Might have a set of used hubs.

    i have got half a mind to get some kind of syringe.
    squirt grease between those bearings.
    and forget i ever opened up those hubs....

    It looks like the locking hub has ground into the facing of the wheel hub - you can see the keyway for the lock ring, the first Axle nut behind.

    Does it look like that ring is threaded on the spindle? Can you feel any holes or notches in it?

    I am affraid that once you get it off, your gonna need a set of replacement hubs as that does not look right.
