Like a lot of us I've been looking for a trailer to pull behind my CJ. Looked at several and just didn't want to pay what people were asking. So, I stayed patient and knew something would turn up. I live in a very small town in Northern Calif. and lots of jeeps in the area. One day while driving on a rural country road that I have driven countless times over the years I thought I saw something out in a field and sure enough there it was. Come to find out a distant relative had this and hadn't used it for a long time. So, I asked him if he wanted to get rid of it and how much. He said make an offer and I said how about 2 C-Notes ($200.00), he said fine and her she is. Needs some work but is basically sound.

The hitch has been changed out to a 2" ball and the wiring from 24 volt to 12.

Great find - looks more solid than most I see for sale!

X2 on that '5 in the background.

Do you have a link to a build thread for it?

Thanks guys, here's the thread to the restore/build of my '57' cj5. Fired it up the other day, just need to get the exhaust system built. Wiring's all done and everything works like it's supposed to, hallelujah.

    Thanks for the link.

Somehow I've missed your build thread until now.

I tried to search your posts/threads before I asked you, but the only one that populated was this one.

Your '5 will look great pulling this M416.

Please keep us posted with the progress on your trailer too!

Did you wear a mask when you gave him the money? It sounds like you stole this.

Nice score! Everyone around here seem to think those are made of plutonium when they come up with their prices.
