You couldn't just scuff them up and paint them?

Keep in mind I've also run into Ford wheels used on the rear of a jeep with a flanged axle not seating correctly and the brake drums rattle because the wheel doesn't seat all the way over the flange on the end. It looks like it works, but the drum is not held in place properly.

If you are going to paint over the powder coat you might try the rattle can primers that are made to paint over plastic, powder coat is essentially plastic beads melted to form a single layer. I would try it without scuffing (save the labor) inside the flange holding the tire.

Or just use Plasti-Dip. If you hate it later, just peel it off. My rims and hubs are dipped...Easy to touch up too.

1960willys can u pm me brother? I can't find how to do it lol
    Have a 62 willys cj5 wittmann AZ
Is there a reason most use a 15" wheel over the 16 originals?
I'd like to get the military tread in a 16 for more clearance but have 15" wheels on it when I bought jeep.
Ik had great success on my 97 TJ using 15" Goodyear wranglers would they work well on my cj5 or no becUse of smaller engine and different gearing etc?

The 15" vs 16" may just work out to be a preference thing. They came from the dealership with either size mounted on them. Could also be that the 15" tires were cheaper to replace than the 16" were.
