   Does anyone have any idea if the floor panel bolts back in 1958 were painted black or had any sore of protective finish like zinc or whatever?

   My one-previous-owner '56/'57 has remnants of black paint in the recessed heads. And rust, so I'd say no plating, unless maybe cadmium/zinc like the dash bolts?
