Very nice. That right rear tire looks worth saving too. ;)

Talk about leaning shackles , I love the tilted in drivers side rear tire.
Mike the body doesn't look to bad at all, throw it all together and make a OD green trail Jeep with a star on the hood.:D

The tilting Jeep syndrome is due to the DJ rear axle installed spring over on 2 different and broken rear springs (not even on the perches. I agree about saving that right rear tire! I might even use it's 3 brothers that are still on the CJ5!!!

I don't think I could do anything other than OD green on this one. I got damn lucky!

Did you find the serial number plate on the passenger side wheel well?

Where on the passenger side wheel well? Front or rear? I'd really like to find out what year this thing was made!

Yup, cute lil bugger --It's a keeper!

OD green is a must. I'm thinking of the somewhat stock military look with on steroids suspension!!

Cool dude. I have one of those too! Mines a '53. About 75% done with the body work. Hopefully I'll paint it in the next couple of weeks.

BTW, here are a couple of pics of the various M38A1 models.

It's a plate with four screws holding it on. It's right on the front of the fender well, behind the passenger seat. It look like this.

Man, looks like a nice rig to build off from. I'd also kill for that distributor machine in the background of that first picture.

mann... you're missing the huge serial plate. it would have said just about everything (branch, delivery date, etc).

looks good. gonna wire it up to use the foot starter switch somehow?

Thanks for the advice and compliments guys! Unfortunatelty I don't have any data plates on it anywhere. I really would have liked to find out its origins... The one thing I do know is that it was equipped with some radio equipment in it, basically just a couple little parts. The only clue I have is a tag on the dash which says "do not start engine with radio on". I'm guessing it was some kind of radio Jeep.

Ledge, don't tempt me about the distributor machine! It does take up a lot of useful space around here...
