I came home the other day and my son already had the cracks welded up and ground down. He then told me that they are the thinnest cheap metal he has ever worked on. He used the mig on the lowest setting with .30 wire. sorry no pics.I then had my buddy who works at a bodyshop who painted the jeep look at them he said he would smooth them out and repaint for $100 + paint. lesson learned stay away from 4wd hardware fenders. I am saving up for another set when these crack again maybe MDJuan

You can weld in a piece of thin rod inside the lip of the fender to help keep them from flexing and cracking again.

AFAIK all the aftermarket tin is made by MD Juan, marketed and sold by everyone and his dog these days.

if welding in a piece of thin rod inside won't work.. maybe a replacement for that part would be the last resort...

2nd that. It was a popular thing to do back in the 60's even. CJ's had fender cracking problems.

I've got a fender from a later model CJ that I am going to shorten by cutting the back off with 1" extra to bend over at a right angle for the body bolt flange. I've never tried it but after it was explained to me by a friend who has it seems pretty do-able.
