I just put on a new wiper blade and arm from Walcks. Only the top of the blade gets any pressure, thus only half gets rain off. How do you adjust these things?

Does the spring in the arm have reasonable tension? These springs have a habit of rusting away and getting weak, or disappearing altogether.

Tried to get a pic in the garage but bad lighting as cloudy outside. Will try again tomorrow. The arm and blade are new from Walcks. I'll probably call Carl for his input.

Many types are pivoted or loosey-goosey where the blade mounts to the arm, just a simple hook. Self adjusting. Is your blade maybe upside down?

Yeah, they make for a quick change but function leaves a lot to be desired.

That looks like a blade for the manual side. I'm talking about the drivers side with the typical Trico with the spring tension.

I can take a pic of mine, they work well. I checked the spring tension to the glass and it sure isn't like on modern vehicles, hardly any pressure! The wiper blades are fairly new and soft. I also use "Rain-X" on the glass, sure helps.

What style arms & what style blades do you have?

These are the stock Trico arms, short one is for a venting windshield-

The last set of blades I picked up did not fit the Trico arms, had to scrounge a set of these-

Hello Howard. The style of wiper arm on my 1966 Tux is the "Wrist"
The replacement blades are Trico "Classic" Here's a few pictures.

Looks like you have the right blades for the arms.

The blades should float loosely on the arms, do they?

Might look into air cooled VW blades. Impress your friends and say they're for a Triumph TR-3.

They are the wrist and the like no arm. Talked to Carl today and he suggested looking to see if can put a slight bend in it. Gonna mess with it this weekend.

    Another zombie thread reawakened! [IMG]

Thanks to you fellas I know I have Trico style arms and blades with the Wrist type connection and it's probably all original.
The blade is identical to the Trico® 33-101 "Classic" and NAPA® WIP 60116 (looks identical, probably the same blade). My blades
without rubber are actually 10 1/4".

    What about wiper blade refills?
Not interested in buying the above (Trico 33-101) combination new blade and rubber refill over and over and over when all I need is the rubber refill.
Anyone got any sources? In theory the refills should be dollars less than the blade assembly....

Howard Eisenhauer and Beach66Bum get the win for best information, photos and parts numbers. (y)
