    Hello,

I'm running a F134 with a Carter YF 938 SD. I know the carb isn't original to this particular engine but I think it's a correct type.
When I apply choke for starting it raises the idle as it should. However, I think it's too much. It will spike over 1500 RPM. My understanding is that there is a pushrod to bend to adjust this setting. What's an appropriate RPM to adjust to?
    Thanks,
    Ken

On mine there's 2 screw adjustments; one for idle, one for fast idle. If yours only has 1 screw adjust then it may adjust with a rod, or maybe the 2nd screw adjuster is missing?

I might try 1200rpm but adjust when cold not hot

I think the "idle" linkage should be adjusted when the choke is open. The linkage rod should slip out of the bottom hole without
any effort. {loose in the hole}. I just rebuilt mine and had the high idle after driving and coming to stop. The linkage adjustment
    fixed the problem..

Ken, there is a linkage that goes from the choke plate to the throttle linkage, that has a 90* kink in it, you can bend it open for higher or close it for lower speed idle when using the choke. I seldom need to use my choke, don't want to foul the plugs, just pump it a few times and fire it up, works good for my F 134. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies. I think I have a leak in the accelerator pump so I'm going to pull the carb and rebuild it. That should give me an opportunity to figure out exactly how my linkage is set up.
