Emergency Brake Handle Shaft Has Extra Groove?

    In the picture u can see my e brake handle shaft with a lonely ratchet groove in it. The issue with this groove is it catches the ratchet stops and then u can't release it. This has to be a PO thing, but it looks EXACTLY like the other grooves that are all together in a line. Any ideas??? I'm going to smooth it out so the ratchet stops wont catch on it, then everything will work fine. 101_1710.JPG

    Don't smooth it out . it's part of design . that is the handle stop for all the way in . your handle will not rotate when it's all the way in . so . it only will turn when the handle is pulled out . now if you want to change cable that another story
