    Hi

I have a new carburator , orginal 2 barrel for my 225 v6. Only this one is with an electric choke. In neutral the choke is closed. I wonder how it opens. I think i have to put a wire on it? From where? Amd there is a tread pipe on the back. It looks something should be mounted on that pipe. ( it is hollow )

I try to nake a picture but it is the choke on the following link

Like to her tips from you

    Greetings

The wire is probably from the Run terminal of your key switch, the same wire that would go to your Ballast resistor if you have one, directly to the coil if your coil is internally ballasted. The pipe is probably for a hot air line from the exhaust manifold, but would not be needed if you have the wire hooked up. Either one would provide heat to the choke bimetal spring, the choke will open up when this bimetal spring gets heated.

I just ordered one of these carburetors myself..

Found out on this forum that the ire should be connected to the gnition wire. On contact it supplies 12 v to the choke.
Question, is there during running always power on the choke? Is this not becomming to hot?

Still like to know wthat to mount on the tube /pipe pointing to the firewall on the choke?
    Greetings Ewoud

    Hi Don,

Thanks , i indeed found out that the wire opens the choke.
I will leave the pipe for what it is.
can tell that it runs very , very good with this carburator.

    Thanks again for the tip

That pipe coupling going into the choke housing has vacuum to it to suck in hot air from the manifold. If you are not going to use that part of the choke then I recommend you put some kind of filter over it. I would not block it off as the carb is designed with that vacuum port and it may cause the carb to not work as designed.

I believe a hose runs from that pipe to the PCV valve on my right side valve cover. Unfortunately, my Jeep is not here at the house to check.
