Im looking for any ECJ5 measurements on a stock jeep , any of them. Frame dimensions , angles ,body , drive train any thing . Im going to try to model a ECJ5 in 3D using sketch up . I figure once I get done it will be easier to see if a idea is going to work or not . If it turns out ok Ill host it so if anyone wants it. Thats if it turns out ok , Im just learning the program but I used to play with 3d game models so I figure Id take a shot at this.
    TIA:beer:

I have a 3d model of a flat fender that i made in Solidworks. I can send it to you to play with. Not sure what format might work for you. It is in parasolid (x_t.) right now. If you think you can use it PM me with your email address, and I will send it to you.

Check this thread for frame dimensions.

Funny you should mention that, cause I was diggin around all day yesterday for the same type of thing. I found a few dimensions on later models, which is what I was lookin for anyway, but haven't really found much on the ECJ's. I was trying to figure out a way to get a side and top view of the frame, and the same view of it with the tub in place for my next trail rig project after next February. I was hoping to take those pics and have them where I could stretch the front out and the rear and do some cutting on the tub and front fenders so that I can make sure it will have the stance that I am looking for and get the measurements right, or at least pretty close before I start cuttin the frame and tub..

    My post here is worthless.:(

My biggest problem is that my 79 is an hour away from where I'm at now, and going the opposite direction of my house, so I know how you feel on not being able to get measurements. I am at a point right now where if I could at least draw it out to see if it is going to look the way I want it to once I stretch and chop it and get an idea of how the cage needs to look, I could make a decision on my ending goal. My decision is to either take the frame I have in the barn that is completely stripped, and the tub I have that looks pretty good except the floorpan (which I want to cut out and sheetmetal a completely different pan anyway) and some rust in the rear corners (right where I would cut it out anyway for a competition cut), or just buy a 7 that my buddy is going to have ready sometime around March once he pulls his engine, tranny, t-case, and axles, springs, and shocks out of it. I really would like to use the 5, because I am partial to the 5's, the frame is clean and hasn't been cut or welded on, and the tub is just gonna go to waste if I don't, not to mention I already own it. However I would like to be able to draw all this out to see if it will be close to what I want it to look like, and if not I'm gonna do the 7.

Sorry for the long, also worthless post.:)
