Not sure if I missed it or not but, since someone else is building, or has built, the short block, I assume said short block does not have a flywheel which has been balanced to match it. Correct?

Correct. Pretty sure my vibration issues weren't from the flywheel.

Yea. I gathered that. Just going by what I've read in Ganahl's book and his suggestion to have the flywheel balanced with the rotating mass of the short block. I suspect his work is more concerned with higher HP and race applications. I don't think I had mine balanced with my 231 when it was rebuilt. 99% sure I didn't. I don't have any vibration issues greater than what is common with an OF. I am no engine builder so, for me, it's mostly all theory and things I've read. Doesn't carry much weight I know. Anxious to see your results.

I had to buy a new V6 flywheel when I acquired my V6; I had the long block rebuilt and installed the new flywheel.
It was never balanced to the engine and was installed right out of the box.
    No vibration problems since 1983.

If you could see in person how much the pistons move around inside the bores....It's amazing to me it ran as good as it did, and didn't come from together.

So, which flywheel do I use? :)
The one with no balance holes, the one with one balance hole, or the one with 4 balance holes?
(I already know which one I'm going to use. I assume at this point that they're all "balanced" )

I was going to use the one with 4 holes, because it only has 112 miles on it since it was resurfaced.

I'm surprised with that much clearance the piston slap noise should've been loud and clear.

You could hear it between 2500 and 3500 RPM, but not nearly as loud as expected. I guess it's because of the (relatively) short piston skirts.

I was going to paint the whole thing Detroit Alpine Green, but the silver they painted it with looked so nice, I decided to leave it. Besides, I didn't want to chance the green peeling in a short time...

It runs. Cam break in done. It's pouring oil from the rear main seal.

Not sure. I mean, I'll fix it, but I haven't talked to them yet. I'm starting to get tired of this..
