I purchased a drum Dana 30 for my 3a. I am in the process of tearing it down to regear and replace all the bearings, seals, etc. I do not have experience with the Warn hubs on the Dana 30. When I removed the caps from the Warn hubs I noticed that the passenger side cap did not have any springs like the drivers side. Is that normal or should I be looking for a new set of lockout hubs for the axle. I know my description is a little vague so I attached a picture. The lockout cap on the left is from the passenger side and the cap on the right is the drivers side. Thanks for the help.

Both should look like the one on the right-with the exception that that one looks like it hasn't seen any lube in a long time and was exposed to water. I think I would be looking for another pair.

Thank you Tim and John for the help. That is what I assumed, but I wanted the opinion of someone that knows more than me. I will get to work looking for a new pair.

One more question. Should I be looking for another set of Warn hubs or is there another brand you would recommend? I know they are more money than others and they are what I bought for my Dana 25 years ago, but if there is a better option I would love to here about it. Thanks again.

I bought Warns to replace the broken hubs that came with my CJ-6. And to replace the broken (or messed up by the PO?) factory hubs on my J20. I don't thrash them hard enough to make a test, but they seem fine. I used studs and nylon locking nuts on my CJ-6, for extra strength. Mile Markers were popular for a while - likely ok, and a bit less expensive.

What's the model number stamped on the dial ?
If those have bearings inside, don't just toss them.
