It's been a few years, but I think I used some Indian head shellac on my shims, and of all the leaks, I don't think the shim packs were one of them

Just got back from my maiden test drive. No leaks! :)

I used Permatex Anaerobic gasket maker on the shims, and Permatex "Right Stuff" on the T-case pan. I coated the output shaft yoke splines in Permatex gear oil gasket maker (green tube). I also put pipe thread tape & a dab of anaerobic sealer on every long bolt that threads into a fluid area.

I also re-sealed the Warn overdrive with the Permatex Anerobic gasket maker.

    I'm curious about this too.

And also - @Jeepman31 do you recall if your rear output companion flange had a groove on the shaft? My case originally did not have a brake on it and the rear bearing cap and flange are different than the ones that came with the brake parts from Herm so I'm double checking which go back on - the one that came with the brake kit is shown below on the left and is taller.

Yes, the seals are thinner and take about the same space as the original seal.

I was able to get the two seals in & a substantial part of the felt dust seal.

The groove is from years of wear. A new yoke should be smooth. You can either replace the yoke, or use a Speedisleeve to repair the one you have. It costs as much or more for the Speedisleeve as it does for a new aftermarket yoke.

I have a new one, it’s just shorter, is that OK?
