What kind of seats is everyone using in their flatties? I don't have the stock ones nor do I want them... I'm looking for something comfortable and has good support. But it also has to be small enough to fit in the jeep properly. Mounting is no biggie because I have built a new subframe for the tub so I can bolt in the seats where ever its needed. I like the look of the Mastercraft Rubicon offroad seats... just not sure if they will look ok and even fit in the CJ2A.

Also what kind of setups does everyone have to still allow access to the passenger side under seat compartment?

I'm in the midddle of making the frames for my Mastercraft seats that I'll be putting in my MB. I'll see if can find the camera and post a picture later.
I'm going to end up with only about 7" between the two seats where my center console (ammo box) is going to go.

I have the Besttop lowback replacements. IMO, flatties with high seats loses something in the look.

I will be looking for new(er) seats. The boss wants ones with more side support - or I have to rig a door bar in the cage. She isn't used to all that air, doesn't like heights, and likes to bound over the rocks faster than I do  .

Right now I have some TJ type High backs in...

If anyone is upgrading their '2A I'd love to locate a stock passenger side seat frame for mine. I have a '3A seat in there now, but it doesn't fit correctly.

Thanks for the ideas... I like the looks of a few of the PRP seats on http://www.racing-seats.com/suspension-seats.html

Id appreciate any other opinions/pictures... I'm not sure if im going to be able to find a local shop that has anything like this in stock so I can test fit them... So knowing someone else made them fit in a cj2a would be great.

I notched the wheel well to gain about 6" of leg room. The Mastercraft seats and PRPs will fit, but I'm guessing all of these types of seats will be wider than stock so you will lose some room in the center. You can see that normally the seat would be at the ledge between the front and back.
    Very comfortable though.

I've thought about notching out the wheel well like that... Does it stick out at all when you look at the outside of the wheel well from the side?
Any more pics you have would be great... How tall are you? Will the seats you have fit without notching or are your knees into the steering wheel if you do that? If possible id like to get away with not notching the wheel well, but if I have to I guess I will.

Here's a picture of the wheel well / tire. Lost some travel, but ya have to make compromises. I'm 6'-1". I test fit the leg room w/ out the notch.
For me I felt it would be too uncomfortable. That's a 31" tire. I'm probably going to end up w/ 33" tires, so I think I'll be o.k.

As it sits now, the tire will hit the front part of the wheel well before it hits the notch (need to do a little trimming;) )
