Does anyone know who makes the ring and pinions that are sold through the Crown brand replacement parts? Are they of pretty good quality? I was told they're American made.

jeepngem is more qualified to answer this than I, but it seems after Transportation Parts went out, Crown stepped in and delivered name brand goods from OEM suppliers: Dana- Spicer, Timken, etc
If it was no longer being made, they found a supplier to make it
this was not without problems though: AMC V8 timing covers come to mind
axle shafts were another area of concern (Spain)
in a lot of cases they were buying from the same suppliers AMC was; and Crown was a lot cheaper price wise
I would call Crown and find out; or ask your dealer(supplier) to do it for you.

I might add that Glenn (jeepngem) was pretty adamant about knowing the quality and where it was made before we would stock it and sell it; if we had problems with the parts, Crown got them back.
They would send him parts to look at and give his approval to
    FWIW

Thanks for the replies. The Crown parts that I have gotten have been good too, but I wasn't sure about something like the gears. I gave Crown an e-mail to see who makes their gears.
