I recently purchased a 1972 CJ5 and need new seats. I purchased smittybuilt lowback seats, they are too tall and sit me up above the soft top. I have searched forums and have not found any results with current pictures available.

Has anyone used the following or have other suggestions?

I am looking at the following bracket options:
Corbeau F101 bench seat bracket. Jeep CJ5 73-75 Seat Bracket - Corbeau Racing Seats
Wedge seat bracket. Jeep CJ5 73-75 Seat Bracket

    Additionally struggling with seat choices:
Corbeau Baja RS Baja RS - Suspension Seats - Corbeau Racing Seats
Corbeau Baja JP Baja JP - Suspension Seats - Corbeau Racing Seats
Corbeau Baja low Baja Low Back - Suspension Seats - Corbeau Racing Seats

I plan on notching to make the fit. I am 5’10” 200lbs.

    Thanks

i used a split bench/bucket type seat out of a ford ranger,I struggled to find a seat that was thin enough so i wasnt jammed into the wheel, unfortunately most of the suspension type seats were too thick both in the base and in the back.you may be better off modifying the brackets to fit the smitty seats. taken right from the wedge seat site "Please note your ride height is more influenced by the thickness of the seat cushion not the height of the bracket".

I replaced my OEM low backs with Corbeau Baja RS, reclining seats the first time.. I ended up making my own mount out of flat stock and welding to the old frame and bolting to the new seats .. I still didn't like the forward seating arrangment, so I cut a wheel house notch and moved em back. The wife hated the Corbeau seats so I sold em and bought a set of Best Top seats. These sat too high, and like yours just were not the hot ticket. I ended up taking the original seat frames back out and cutting them down and rewelding to get em lower.. They are at the right height now..

    Mine is a 75 CJ5

Note: The roll on the side of the Baja seat makes getting in and out even harder..
