It seems I read something in order to convert my 1961 CJ5 through floor pedals. Can anyone help here, tech references and pictures, which pedal assembly installs best?

Changing engine to Odd Fire V6 from 4 cyl. When I was younger we had a CJ5 with Chev V8 converted and installed swing pedals from the junkyard (they worked great). That was 25 years ago. Looking for upgrade recomendations.

Well thanks for the replies, I'll do some more research and let you know what I find. I did find a conversion using the Chevy S10 pedals, looks nice and seems to fit good.

    Thanks again

    floor pedals

If you change over to swinging pedals, I would be interested in your floor pedals to put back in my '56. I'm going back to a 4 cyl from a v6 and I need a brake pedal assembly and M/C.

    thanks

I put hanging pedals in my 2A and it wasn't too hard. It should be easier with a CJ-5. I used pedals from a mid 70's CJ-5 and then new master cylinders for both the brake and clutch. I got all that from ebay for less than $75 and then I used a push type clutch slave cyl. from Summit for $50. I had to make a bracket for the clutch slave cyl. cause I'm running a SM 420 tranny behind an odd fire V6, but you should be able to use a stock Jeep cyl. I think.

Another way. I bought the complete Advance Adapter swing pedal, master cyl., hydrualic clutch conversion kit with clutch/press. plate and T. O. bearing. It works well but it wasn't cheap and you might have to built a bracket for the slave cyl. depending on what bell housing you have. I even had to bend the brake pedal to clear the steering tube on my 3a. All in all a very clean professional looking conversion when you're done. A. A. has all the info.
