My 58 did not come with a heater (go figure as it spent its life on a ranch in central Texas) but I have acquired all the parts. Now for hooking it up. I've found this pic on Walcks site showing the fluid control valve, but I'm not sure where the hose routs from there to the heater, as well as where the two cables go thru the firewall. I know there is a port on the passenger side of the head that connects to presumably the heater core port closest to the firewall. So any pics of what is thought to be original would be appreciated.

That would be great! A F134? If so pics from above so can see heater hose routing as well as control cables would be great. For some strange reason, the wife is pushing to get the heater installed before I leave it with her at the mountain cabin the week after New Years. Women......I already warned her not to expect great amounts of heat, from what I've read.

My heater control cable comes through the firewall in the large grommet with the electrical wiring. What is your second cable for? Should only be one in the engine area.

There are two. Mine is the older cable system NOT the newer vacuum style. So one cable controls the water valve as in the pic above from Walcks and the other controls the air flapper diverter that adjusts the air flow arm on the outside edge of the air box mounted to the firewall. Then there is a 3rd which does not go into the engine compartment as it controls the floor heat vs defrost diverter valve.

Forgot about that one. Mine is the old style also. Sounds like you’ve got it figured out.
