Does any one know where I can get a clutch fork boot for the T14 transmission on my 1970 Jeepster? My clutch failed because I got mud and sticks in the transmission when I had no boot. Now that I've spent the money on a new clutch, I don't want to loose another one! My local parts house only offers the boot for the 72+ commando. I know that won't fit because I have a tranny from a 72 commando. The boot I need should measure apx 3 7/8" x 3 3/8" The 1972 Commando clutch fork opening is much smaller.
    Thanks everyone,
    Nathan

There was an ebay auction for a NOS boot recently, and the part number was listed as 3841738. I did a google search and came up with the following link for a reproduction:

    http://chq.temphost.net/cgi-bin/chq/W-478.html

I don't know if this a correct reproduction for our Jeeps, but maybe someone else might know. It also lists other applications that you might be able to cross reference at your FLAPS to see it they have one that might work. Let us know what you find.

Is it the small one? I have a new small boot laying around here somewhere . . .

Base is maybe 1.25 inches square or there abouts . . .

(I think the T-14 and T-15 share the same bell housing)

Let me know . . . If that's what you need (and I can find it) I'll send it to you!

Be very careful what you buy from Ryan. I live about 6-8 blocks from him. Known him since high school. Used to be friends until he tried some shenanigans on me, and we were supposedly friends. Due to less than stellar business practices with him will not ever buy from him or sell to him. I've heard some people have had great dealings with him. Have heard some were unhappy. Not trying to tell anyone who to deal with, your experiences may be different. Most of what he sells are available from most other suppliers. Just a friendly warning....

Thanks for the help guys. I knew about Ryan's parts at the-jeep.com. Unfortunately, none of his boots fit for the buick 225 and T14 transmission. After taking measurements of the opening, the boot will probably be 4"x 3.5". It's not a perfect 4" square. I've been posting this question on other Jeepster sites and will keep you all posted as to what I find and what works.
