I need to replace the floor and hat channel in my '66 CJ5 and am not sure whether to go with a whole floor with new tranny covers that replaces to whole front floor assy or just weld in replacement panels and hat channel from Classic Enterprises. HAs anyone used the whole floor that Kaiser-Willys and Rigid Steel sells? I do like the fact the the whole floor comes with new covers but I don't like the fact that they have the wood in the hat channels. Any advice would be great.

IMO if the center hump is ok go with the pans and hat channels separate, I sincerely wish I had done that. I ended up cutting up my RR (MD Juan) floors and using the parts I wanted, they weren't accurate in the fit, and my center hump was too good of an original W-O steel to just cut away. Also, use compositite deck material for supports, or just weld in pieces of pipe in the channels for support. The wood will just trap moisture, YMMV

Classic Enterprises is near Minneapolis - you might give them a call and ask about their products. Personally I would probably buy new hat channels and patch the floors with flat stock unless the whole floor was swiss-cheese-like. Helps to have air, but you can cut out the holey parts and weld in new flat stock, then grind smooth. It's a floor - even more, it's a floor in a Jeep - it doesn't have to be perfectly straight and smooth. JMO.

The whole floor while decent is not a direct fit. Firefighter mike went this route and there was still a major amount of work to make it fit right and it doesn't have any of the holes in it and is not an exact copy of the original.

I was leaning towards the Classic Enterprises hat channels and floor pans, but I was looking into the whole floor because my transmission covers are pitted and thin near the floor pans. See attached pics. Also, I am trying to find out if this is the correct gas pedal setup for the Dauntless V6.

My center hump & trans cover was good. I used 1x2 steel channel & 18ga sheet metal. I did install a repo traverse ledge

For the covers, the pits won't make any significant difference in strength. I'd reuse them. If I did not cover the floor, I might strip them, paint with epoxy primer and then filler-primer, and sand out.
