Just my 2cent, and that's overvalued:
In the day, 50 miles of expert break-in driving seated rings, etc ... 500 miles for any knucklehead like my self. Sucking oil, any oil, after decent breakin is a deal killer to me. $7K is a deal killer to me unless there's a full restore (in my area of the great central valley of Kaulifornia) ... just tending to the "pretty" / "easy" stuff, as originally mentioned, is a telltale sign that something's wrong. I just went thru this in June. There's a lot more to old iron than a "rebuilt" engine ... there's a WHOLE lot more to one that sucks oil

But only if restored? A demilitarized MB I expect would be worth about as much as a comparable 2A.

if it still has its data plates then it is worth more than a 2a in the same shape. MB prices have really gone up.

Im a bit late joining in on this one, but check out the military MB Jeep prices on this site > vehicle park >>www.milweb.net/

    Info wanted>
Does anyone here know anything about the (cj3 replicas) Mitsubishi J53/54 Jeeps?? I've never seen one in the flesh before but apparantly they were built by the Japs under licence from Jeep, they have (so they say) bomb proof 2.6 turbo diesel motors and was made up until about 96 I think.

I've been wondering if any (or how many) of the parts are interchangable on CJ 3 & J53/4's

Maybe I should put a flame suit on ready for the reply:oops::)
