Well the steps on my 2A were pretty rotten and I wanted to build some rocker guards up for it so during naptime for my 15 month old I got an hour of work done on them today. Plans are for a 3"x3"x1/4" angle as the rocker guard and the 1"x1" to make the base for the step. Hopefully I can finish them up tomorrow or the next day. Heres some pics...

Now I just need to make up the frame for the step and get some diamond plate or expanded metal.

Would jack the Jeep up by the rocker guard put to much strain on the body mounts? I can't decide to go to the frame or to the body like yours. That looks really good and effective.

Thanks I think it should be okay for jacking up, I have done them like this on a few Wranglers, a Commando, and another CJ and they held up okay. I am going to be reinforicng my body mounts on this one as well though as the floor has had some repairs done to it.

Well I got both of them done almost. I still need to get some steel diamond plate to make the step tread but heres how it looks now:

There are 6 bolts going through each body side and 2 underneath going through the hat channel and the floor so they should be pretty sturdy.
