I was looking at my body mount brackeets on the rear of the tub, that bolt the tub to rear crossmember. I have to replace the mounts behind the taillight panel. I was measuring the two center most mounts (4 brackets total on rear of body tub) to see how far apart they are when i weld on the new brackets and I noticed there are no corresponding holes in the rear crossmember for the center most mounts to bolt to the frame. This was quite odd, i do not remember pulling the body mounts since it was a while ago. But I was curious if there were others that had a tub that did not use the center two body monuts to the rear frame crossmember.

I know the CJ5 body has 4 rear mounts, but its been 30 years since I pulled a CJ2 tub. Maybe the early Jeeps only used two?

Both of my 2As have bolts in all four holes. Neither body looks like it has ever been off the frame. Both are 1947.

Weird. I dont have holes even drilled in the crossmember, maybe it was replaced at some point, but it looked original.

The rivets on the crossmember are pretty hard to do unless you source the right ones.
