I have just bought a rag top for my cj 6 from Morris 4WD. I have one problem so far, I need the door channels to fasten the top at the top of the door. Talked to Morris and was told they could not help me.
Talked directly to Bestop, and even though the part # for the door channels were in the instructions, I was told these parts were no longer available and was instructed to try to find used parts. Not sure exactly what these look like. Anyone got a pic of your softop door channels or know where I might find a pair.
I suppose I could make some out of windshield channel, but would just be simpler if I could find the right parts. Any help much appreciated

Are you looking for the channels the front of the door slides into that mount on the windshield frame?
Can you post a pic of the instructions?

I don't see those parts on the Bestop instruction sheet. Aren't those door channels part of the windshield?

Looking at Bestop website it doesn't seem to have flat fenders in their drop down top search. The CJ3B top comes with door channels part numbers 186.73 and 186.74. I wonder if they would work? I have a set I can measure if need be.

When I installed the Tiger Top on my CJ-6, I choose a hot day and worked in the full sun. It was a struggle to fit the top.

Depending on how your bows mount to the rail over the rear fenderwells, you may have some "adjustment" by jiggering the pivot bracket and bows.
I've had friends call up asking why their top is either too loose or too tight. I've always been able to make them fit well by playing with the bows.
Your 3" sounds a bit excessive, and if you do manage to get it fastened, I expect the top will have a shorter life with it stretched that tight.

I think there have been several that have had the issue with the top being "difficult" on the back. Here is what I did on my 67. Post # 38.

yes sir, full sun made a big difference
This helped too. drilled another hole to lower the front bow and used the front hole for the rear bow. tied a couple ropes on each end of the rear bow to hook ratchet strap to, other on bumper. pulled top down enough to attach snaps
    THANKS FELLAS
