Just thought Id post this since it never occured to me before, maybe I can save someone else trouble. When you replace the fuel pump on your F-head, its worth noting that the webbing on the mounting surface of some replacement pumps is much thinner than on the original. The original bolts on mine were a half inch too long with a replacement pump (chinese). The frontmost bolt runs into a boss, so its easy to catch since it wont run in all the way. The rear bolt however, will go all the way in. This would be counterproductive to camshaft rotation. If someone hadnt pointed this out to me, I would have run it, though probably not for long. Probably obvious to most of you guys, but passing it along anyway.

I've got one that has an aditional 1/4" spacer between the fuel pump and the block, requiring double gaskets to mount.
