New word for me, Chaff, don't think I ever heard that word. I put expanded metal in front of my radiator to keep something from hitting my newly redone core. The openings were too large, bugs go right through it, I get bug guts all over the fan, and the inside of the hood, thinking about having a screen made to drop in front of the radiator between the grill and the radiator, to catch the bugs now, it could be pulled out and washed, something to consider.

The one shown for the CJ-5 isn't an original type. That's the bug-off style. They've been around for years and are nice but it's definitely after market.

A chaff screen keeps the hay chaff from plugging up the radiator. It is expanded steel with screen behind it. The one on Ted works awesome. It also keeps the mud out when going through deep mud holes as the guys found out last year in New Hampshire. :D I was the only one without a plugged up radiator.
