I'm running an LS and a SM465 so there's not much room for stuff under mine. I crossed the exhaust over near the back of the transmission. I'm using the stock cross member mounted to the SM465/Dana 18 adapter and it sits a little aft of where it would be normally. The exhaust crossover kind of tucks in near the crossmember.

I appreciate the help and seeing how others do it. Do you have the longer adapter or the 1" one? I have the 1" one and the original crossmember would hit the transfer case which makes the mounting system in the instructions from AA not possible but maybe I am missing something.

My SM465 cross member is cradled like that as well. I run two cross members and then have a plate between them that the mount is bolted to. You can see it in # 5 and 11 -

I'm using the adapter from Advance Adapters and it's about 4 inches thick. Here are some more pictures. My exhaust hangs about an inch below the cross member. Also, be sure to put a couple of clamp joints on the crossover so you can take it apart in the field. Mine was completely welded up, and we had to cut it to do some work on the clutch.

Well I got my broken bolts out. It’s a blind hole so now I have to decide whether to put a stud in.

im going to order the Dave’s custom crossmember kit with the dom tubing and isolators at the frame connection so this doesn’t happen again.
