    Need Help Carb Linkage ?

Alright so Im gonna do it. I've a offy 360 dual plane intake and a holley 390cfm 8160 carb. My question is what kind of linkage do I need to adapt this to my 69 v6 setup and what temp sending unit should I use or just go out and get an adapter I want to use the original gauges so any all help is appreciated. And if there are is any body that could post pics of there linkage to help give an idea of what it should look like. Thanks ahead of time

    jim; this is my - 69, 225, 360 dual plane, 470ta.

the linkage is original with two modifications. they are; 1- raised the pivot arm by about an inch. 2- lengthened the rod from the pivot arm to the carb by about one half inch.

for the sending just get a reducer.

It looks like your running a manual choke on this pic. Is that a water injection setup over the top of the carb just curious. Thanks wmunny

yes i do use a manual choke set up. i only use it for fast idle as there is no butterfly in the card.
it is an injection system, but i spray methanol.

I have an Offy 360 degree intake and a Holley 390 CFM 4bbl. I swiched to cable linkage. I don't remember the donor vehicle. And I had to fabricate the mount of the swing pedal onto the firewall. I don't have any good pics but, I do know that it was a vast improvement over the previous linkage setup. The reason being was that every time I would apply the gas the engine would flex in the mounts and the body would flex a little bit. That movement would cause the linkage to push and/or pull on the carb either adding or taking fuel making throttle control difficult. I don't know if the linkage I switched from was original or bubba-ed. But if i had to choose ONE thing that made my Jeep better, including a sm420 swap, a d18 twin stick conversion, engine rebuild, seat changes, etc.. that was the best thing I've done for the driveability of it.

I'll try to get some pics up soon. I don't have a camera right now but I'm sure I can borrow one.

Here's some pictures. If I remember correctly the pedal and cable were from a Toyota pickup. I want to say late 70s or early 80s but I really don't know, that was about 9 or 10 years ago.

The pics aren't the best and the color's a little funny but I hope it helps...
