    Hey all
    Working on a t14 rebuild (don’t say it ),
I can’t get the second-third synchronized assembly off of the main shaft. Got the snap ring off but that’s about as far as I’ve gotten. Does this need a gear puller or press or hammer blow to remove?

Also, the low sychro assembly came off OK, but I tried to put it back on to make sure I know the order/process, and it wouldn't go without some force. Is that normal? Is there an orientation thing I'm missing?

    Thanx!!!

Usually a puller or press is needed. Most are a press/interference fit. Sometimes movement between the synchronizer hub and mainshaft causes burrs to be formed making it difficult to get apart or assemble. If the synchronizer hub slides off easily look for wear between the hub and shaft. It’s common for the hub splines to wear causing excessive play. There should be NO rotational play between the two.
