    Hi guys an girls

I'm considering adapting my M606A1 ( Military CJ5) roof bows to fit M38A1 jeep bow fittings. Anyone out there with an M38a1 who could take a close up photo of the bow ends, and fittings? If you could measure the roof bow sides in total and the lengh/width of the flat bit on the end that would be great.

Reason being it has wwii fittings which don't let me drop the bars flat to the jeep.

    Many thanks for your help

    Cheers

    Chris

The top will be exactly the same, just the fittings to thej eep will change, yes it;s a cool roof, along the front it has lots of leather fastings. i enquiredabout a replacement canvas one but they don't make um quite like that for M38A1's

I don't see the look changing when roof is up, but when down much more tidy.

    Cheers Chris

I keep wanting to cal it a hood, cos that's what we call a roof in UK, your hood is a bonnet?

My dad just sold his M38A1 so I can't help with pics. You might try someone on G503.com though.

I'm not sure what the difference is in the way they lay. My GPW bows lay flat against the body. Do you mean a different kind of flat? Or are they installed incorrectly? I seem to remember that the brackets are at an angle on the body which allows them to lay flat.
