Cage Design Questions

I have looked into the pre made kits too. My whole jeep is a home made debacle so finding something pre made might work, but probably won't. My only choice is to make one myself. first thing I need to do is get a bender. I have a buddy who says he has an extra hossfield bender I can basically have, but I hate borrowing or using anyones anything. That means I haven't started yet. This is not a requirement like so many other things I have done, so I think I will just think about it for the time being.

 

I got a "U-weld" bender from Rogue Fab. I added an air over hydraulic ram from Harbor Freight and I couldn't be happier. As with any bender the expensive part are the dies.

 

Jeep Roll Bar

In your neck of the woods. Get a front hoop. Make your own speaders out of dom. Done

I have a hydraulic electrical conduit bender. Not recommended for tight stuff or 90° with Dom as it will flatten it on the back but if you need some small bends for spreaders should be ok.You are welcome to use it.

 

Thats very nice of you to offer. I do have a line on a bender that i can borrow. I also have a roll bar on it right now thats probably been rolled on once so its performance tested! That guy selling the roll bar is so close to me. He has been selling junk (to me) for quite some time. I inquired about something from him and he wanted a bunch of money. Like I said, a cage is not an emergency as I do have a roll bar.

I would never drive my jeep without a roll bar with seat belts. I like seat belts, so I will always run a roll bar minimum. Never can tell when I might set hit turning a corner and roll. Rather have a chance than none.
