Ok, so I decided to get another build thread going (rather than get my original back from the dead)
I'll take Jason's advice and do it :D I thought I didn't do enough to make a build thread but I guess I do R)
Got the Jeep last July in 07
    Started there
    Uhm, here's how it was:
Pretty much all stock with an MB engine
Then I rebuilt stuff and said some things I'll regret and pushed onto this
Here's a couple of weeks ago:
Here's what came in the mail for me to give me more fuel to get going:
<insert picture here, or at least I will when I find my other camera cable R)>
And I got this put on and primered:
Then some stuff fell into place and it's black tonight, plus I fabbed this up for a hitch, going to go back over the welds when I finally find a 220 MIG or get an Arc, debating that one over.

And then I wonder this...Will this ruin my angles? R)R)
And I think this weld looks machine layed:
Calling around for prices tomorrow on sand blasting for the complete body, the air cleaner, and the wheels.
Couldn't help myself so I did this for a preview for myself. I absolutely dig hot rod's and decided on flat red for the wheels, and I'll add the black pinstripe later:

And as they say pictures are worth a thousand words so if you'd like to see what I've done zoom on over to my profile and click my homepage link, there should be my PB in there and it back logs quite a lot. I take pictures of everything.
Thanks for looking, expect more slowly in the future
    -Sammy

What special folks Turner is. They ship all the parts I don't need right away but the manifold I need because mine was cracked, is back ordered  Going to Walcks in a minute to order one of his. Hopefully he's on top of things.
I am completely amused right now on the other hand. The UPS man rang my bell to drop those parts off, I didn't answer right away, go out, bring the parts in and I hear him calling his supervisor "Ya man nobody answered man do I leave a not or what aye?" R) We'll see what he does R) R)

    Thanks!
    That's my dad's M8000
I have one as well. It's in a multi mount on the front, like this:
I have the hitch so I can keep it in the bed and put the winch on the rear if needed

I'd leave it on the front and use a change of direction pulley if you need to go the other way...

Walck's stuff came today. Ordering an exhaust manifold from them as well.
Hopefully Herm will get my OD done at some point...
And I'm in touch with a sand blaster (well generic name)
The first man, very nice, mobile blaster, wanted $750 for the tub alone. Didn't tell him I had fenders and grille and hood too, much less tires. He liked the Jeep, he had a 46, and is a true car guy. I feel terrible to turn him down, but I fear I will have to
Because (remember my sprint car friends?) One's dad owned a powder coating company, sold it, and they're still in touch with the owner. He wants $65/ hour, figures 6-8 hours for all of it. $520 (plus tax)(on the safe side) I'll be going with them. Another really pleasent guy. Hope to get it over to them by friday.

i guess thats not a bad idea for the winch, guess it depends on what you like to do with it. i understand feeling bad about turning him down as i used to feel bad about stuff like that but you have to look out for yourself and your $. i always used to say nothing personal but i got it for this amount somewhere else. cant wait for some more pics of the progress.

Indeed, plus I'll need to put the winch on a PU or XJ if I get one, so the mobility is nice.
He was pleasant about it and everything, kind of a pitiful fellow, drove a 70 F100 that took 4 trys to start and blew black smoke.
But for 230 less I need to go through the powder coaters =/

Got stuff back from blasting. First was unload and then paint the wheels, primer all around, black on the back and the inners, and flat red on the outside. A few coats. I need to see if there's such thing as an egg shell clear coat to keep the paint safe.
