I have an issue with the old and new master cylinder I installed on the 69. the hole in end of the master cylinder pushrod where it attaches to the brake pedal(thru floor) is about 5/8" in diameter but the pivot on the brake pedal is only 3/8". Are there different sizes for the older single cyl mc and newer dual cyl mc? or is there some kind of bushing that is supposed to go on there. The old one I welded a washer on to take up the slop. Want it done right now with the newer parts....

A bushing could be made out of almost anything the right diameter.

Or the small parts drawers at a half decent hardware store would have bronze or nylon bushings. Or try Graingers.

I could weld another washer on it like the old one. I just want to know how its supposed to be. Ive got 3 jeepster manuals and they cover almost everything on the cj5 but it has hanging pedals so diagram doesnt show how its supposed to be

Found out too the brake pedal arm hits the master cyl and bellhousing. Is there a different pedal for 4 and 6 cylinders?

Just wondering if my whole pedal is wrong

From parts I've seen for sale there is an early and a later pedal, but that's all I can add to this.

4 & 6 cyl brake pedals are different.
When I needed one for my 70, I had to modify a 4 cyl pedal to fit.
    Couldn't find one for a v6...

I think I remember someone posting about bending a pedal in a case like that, to clear the bell.
