Do a search on the forums...they've been discussed quite a few times.

Holbrook's can be reached at 503-655-4747. They are located in Gladstone, OR and have been around since the early '70's. Give Ed, Gary, or David a call. Also, as suggested, do a search here. Lots of good info. Nickmil.

My 3a has Holbrook long leaves. $790 last year. I do like them. A couple of thoughts. One, they are 3" to 3 1/2" lift. More than I wanted so I frenched the hangers into the frame. I now have a 2" lift. This also improved caster angle and was approved by Holbrook. Two, properly setting hanger location was a pain. Thirdly, if you are a rock crawler, you will find sometimes you will be hanging on these long leaves, or should I say long main leaf. Not good because this is light weight and banging down on it is bound to damage it sooner or later. And lastly rear wheel contacts rear 1/4 panel because of added flex.

I have the diamond 3" kit and i'm happy with it. It does what I wanted. It's not the best ride but isn't has harsh as some i've ridden in. I have noticed more body roll and a little better ride over the past year. I didn't go with the Skyjacker soft ride due to body roll. I rode in a cj5 that had their kit and it rode great but you had to hang on in the corners. The body roll was horrible and I didn't want to run a sway bar.

I have a set of really old Rancho springs that were way to stiff. In my case. I took out the leaf just below the eye leaf. Here is what I had. (May not be the same for you.)

    5 leafs total.
Top leaf had the two eyes.
2nd leaf was full lengh ran from under eye to under eye.
3rd leaf is half the lenth of top leaf.
    4th leaf small support leaf.

I took out the 2nd leaf. This had to be the best idea I had. It really softend up the ride and it's really flexy. I also didn't loose ride hight like I had thought I would.

I know it may apply more pressure on the main leaf, but I haven't had any problems. I figured If it breaks I'll just buy some new ones. But for old rust springs. That and being free fix. How can you go wrong. :)

Well, Bob doesn't have his BDS springs anymore, but he'll be helping me break-in my Explorer Pro-Comps in a couple of weeks!
