I inherited a Bestop top with my CJ-5 from the previous owner. The other day, I decided to see if I could put it together -- no instructions, so I decided to do it the man's way -- no instructions. I got all the pieces out, 2- doors, a top and zippered windows. Then I got to the frame pieces and apparently, there are some missing. Try as I might, I could not make what was there, look like a frame for the top. Does anyone have a breakdown of what pieces should be there? I have some other boxes I haven't gone through yet, but I will not have time for a bit. I was hoping to get a breakdown if someone else has one. It is a full top with doors, windows and a back flap. Thanks in advance...

That top is different than mine, I don't know what Bestop I have, it was on the Jeep when I bought it. The only place I have snaps in on the tailgate, five snaps. My top has channels that attach to the top of the box rails that a flap tucks under, as does the top of the windshield. The doors are two piece, the windows slip off and the bottom can be left on. The back windows zip out, as does the rear window. I seldom put the rear windows in as I don't drive it in winter. Hope this helps, there must be different tops available for CJ 5's.

Go to Besdtops web site. Look at the different tops and find the install instructions, see what install instruction match your top You can purchase any parts needed for the top, including hardware. Just installed my top and it has the same hardware you dicsribed, got the instructions off there web site.

That sounds like a Supertop, same as my Jeep.

I believe that Bestop only makes two tops for ecj5 (maybe they used to make others): the supertop with the channels around the body and the tigertop that is more OEM replacement with the snaps all the way around. Gotta to be one of those two unless some other tops were made at some point.

Mine appears to be the snap type, but the pieces have zippers, so I think I will have to go on their site and look. Last glance, it appears they want over $500 for the frame. I will see, like others have mentioned, if I can determine which pieces I need from their website and then just order those. Thanks to all of you in here for the help. I can see how it goes together, it's just a matter of getting the stuff to make it happen.
