What's an average (meaning some rust from here in the salt belt), all original Ben Hur worth? The smaller one like some guys here have, for behind a JEEP. Not sure if the paint is original. Has the original ball hitch I think. Some rust through at the front floor joint.

Going to look at one and wondering what a ball park estimate value might be. Not my offer price but, it's worth.

Did you buy it? I was gonna say it looked more like the HD Sears David Bradley. Definately the original hitch and wheels. Hard to say a value - especially on the bigger one as they don't seem to be as common. Other than the floor it looks pretty solid. Looks to be sitting a little high - shackle extensions on the rear?

Yes, it's the HD model rated at 2500-3000 lbs. I thought too that it looks a little tall but, I didn't notice anything that seemed non-factory.........yet.

And judging from my internet searching, the HD units do seem to be quite a bit less common than the smaller ones. This one's tub is 8' long and 50 1/2" wide. It would be tight, lengthwise, for a sheet of plywood but, I kinda like the trailer in general. Curious to see if the plywood would actually fit.

I think with some wheel bearing service, lighting and the repair if the front panel and floor area, it would be an awesome trailer.

,,,,and yes, it's mine but, no title with it. I'm guessing it's from the late 40's?

I'd say that's about right. Does it have a data plate? If you decide to change the hitch let me know :) I've got a smaller version 47 and looking for original hitch - actually have the right hitch but need the octogon wheel. Those rear shackles look non factory from here - think they shoud tuck up like the front. Gap between the tire and fender looks too big - those are 16" tires?

Yea, 16s. I can't find a good picture of what the suspension is supposed to look like on the Hds. Saw some of the standard duty ones. All I can find is the brochure and that is an artist's sketch or drawing.

I'll snap some better shots of the springs and stuff. Maybe that will help.

Pics added. The bolts at the front off each spring are opposite each other. One has the nut on the outside, the other has the nut on the inside. No tags on the trailer anywhere.

Fellow PA resident here and I have fad a couple trailers without a title. Just send the required info to Maine and they issue out of state registrations and plates.

    http://www.mainetrailerregistrations.com/

I've used them now for an M105 I pull behind my deuce and a half and with an M416 I pull behind my M38A1. They are fast and easy to deal with. Never had an issue with being pulled over. PA doesn't seem to care about out of state trailer registration. I know NY hates it.

Well, I've set the trailer out front for sale. Throwing the 700/obo number out there to see what happens. Had several people stop but, none know what the trailer is or have any interest in restoring it. Just using it. Which, is okay with me I guess. So far, I get the impression that I'm asking too much. Anyone have any thoughts on my price? I'm just going by prices I've seen for the smaller ones, the Bantams, and other similar sized trailers.

I just sold mine for $600...it was in similar condition. It lasted about a week on Craigslist & the first person to come look at it bought it.
